Supporting the RPSB in appraising its restored salt marshes

Risk of flooding is a significant challenge for the UK coastal areas, threatening properties, displacing communities and causing financial loss – as well as destroying important natural landscapes, where organisations like the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) advocate for coastal management policies. The Cambridge Coastal Research Unit worked with the RSPB to develop a practitioner-facing toolkit to help the organisation carry out its own scientific appraisal of the benefits of its restored salt marsh site at Hesketh Out Marsh near Preston in Lancashire.
