Cambridge Biomedical Campus: changing lives and boosting the economy

The Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC) is at the heart of the UK and Europe’s leading life sciences cluster. It is home to world-renowned hospitals including Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and has grown to become a global leader in medical research, education and patient care. Its vibrant community of scientists, clinicians, NHS workers and industry are working together to transform the lives of patients locally, nationally and around the world. In August 2022, an independent report by the Centre for Economics and Business Research found that the campus supported an aggregate economic footprint of £2.2 billion Gross Value Added to the UK economy and that, as well as being the largest employment site in Cambridge, over 15,000 additional roles are supported across the regional supply chain and local businesses.
