Convening business leaders in urging the UK to cut emissions

The UK was the first country globally to set a legally binding climate change mitigation target. Over the past 16 years, the UK Corporate Leaders Group (CLG), convened by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), has highlighted the urgent need for the government to set out ever more ambitious emissions targets and plans. In 2020, a letter to the UK Prime Minister coordinated by CLG UK and signed by over 80 companies including Tesco, BT, ScottishPower and Sky, contributed to momentum that led to the UK’s announcement to commit to cut emissions by 68% by 2030.
