Hostile hacks, cyber-attacks and data breaches are becoming both more common and more sophisticated, costing the UK £ billions and putting at risk our national infrastructure. Cambridge researchers have redesigned the architecture of a computer’s central processing unit to make it less vulnerable to security breaches. A prototype has been developed by Arm, in collaboration with Microsoft and Google, among others, and is now being tested by industry and researchers around the world.
