In 2018, UK Research and Innovation engaged the expertise of Cambridge Industrial Innovation Policy and senior academics from the Institute for Manufacturing to assess the real-world impact of digital manufacturing. The report ‘The Practical Impact of Digital Manufacturing: Results From Recent International Experience‘ examined the implementation of digitalisation in key manufacturing countries. The evidence contributed to a UK government funding boost of £147 million to support investments in digital manufacturing research.
