What did the Romans ever do for York? We’ll soon know a great deal more thanks to the biggest study ever undertaken into the ancient city buried beneath York. Ground-penetrating radar will be used to answer key questions about the influential settlement. In collaboration with the City Council and local heritage organisations, and involving volunteer-run research projects, the project will also enhance the development of a Roman visitor centre in the city.
