Partnering with local government to promote innovation and inclusive growth

When Greater Manchester elected its first Mayor as part of the process of devolving more political powers to the area, Cambridge’s Centre for Science and Policy (CSaP) worked in partnership with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the University of Manchester to explore what steps local government could take to promote inclusive economic growth. CSaP organised a Policy Workshop that brought together 33 academic experts and policy practitioners. Recent knowledge exchange activities have centred around a new innovation district in Manchester and a manufacturing-focused innovation district in Rochdale.
