Soils are being degraded by intensive farming practices and extreme weather events, putting farmers at increasing financial risk. NatWest Group, the largest lender to the farming sector, worked with Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership to quantify these risks. This demonstrated the case for action for NatWest to help UK crop farmers put in place adaptation and mitigation measures to reduce environmental damage and improve social and economic outcomes.
