Regenerating degraded landscapes in the Cairngorms and Lake District

The Cairngorms and the Lake District are both national treasures, but their landscapes have been transformed by deforestation, heavy grazing and wildlife loss. The Cambridge Centre for Landscape Regeneration will work with local farmers, landowners, communities and conservation groups to address the root challenges of landscape regeneration in the long-term. The work will draw on success stories like Cairngorms Connect – the UK’s biggest habitat restoration project with a 200-year vision for protecting the landscape.
