CMR Surgical is transforming surgery for people through a next-generation surgical robot Versius®. The University was an early investor in the company in 2016 through Cambridge Innovation Capital (the preferred investor for the University) and has continued to support the company as it grows and brings Versius to more hospitals and surgeons. The robot is designed to enable surgeons to perform more minimal access surgery, so that more patients can have access to the highest quality of surgical care. To meet the increasing global demand for Versius®, a large-scale manufacturing facility is being built in Ely, Cambridgeshire.
