Powering Britain’s battery revolution

Cambridge University is one of the founding universities of the Faraday Institution, established in 2017 to overcome key industrial challenges in battery energy storage technology. Headquartered at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus near Oxford, the institution now brings together 27 UK universities and 85 industry partners. Cambridge’s Clare Grey leads work on examining how environmental and internal battery stresses damage electric car batteries over time.
