Reducing exposure to unhealthy take-away food outlets

Cambridge research findings and online tools have contributed to improvements in national public health and planning guidance, as well as local planning practice, to reduce the levels of exposure to unhealthy takeaway food outlets across England. Examples of impact include supporting London’s takeaway school exclusion zone policy, Gateshead Council’s takeaway planning regulations and a Newcastle community group’s opposition to a new fast-food outlet opposite a major secondary school.
